Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Permanent, full-time
Los Angeles, CA (Westside), 5 days onsite
$180,000 – $200,000 base salary plus bonus

About the Client:
A global financial firm with offices across the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The IT team is small and growing, and this is a visible seat that works directly with senior leadership.

Role Overview:
You will be the senior technical owner of the firm’s cloud, network and identity infrastructure. The environment is cloud-first with very little on-prem, and several projects are already under way. You will stay hands-on and personally build and operate the work. This is not a seat for someone who wants to manage or step back from the technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the design, build and day-to-day operation of the firm’s Azure environment, including networking, compute, storage, backup and disaster recovery
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform and Azure DevOps, and support the firm’s data platform, including Databricks
  • Manage enterprise networking and security across offices, including Meraki and Palo Alto, VPN, wireless, routing, DNS and DHCP
  • Administer identity and access with Entra ID, Okta and Active Directory, including Microsoft 365 integration
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure, cloud, network and identity issues
  • Support security tooling and practices, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, patching and hardening
  • Automate repetitive work with PowerShell and other tooling, and document standards, runbooks and architecture
  • Support and administer enterprise AI tools, and build automations, pipelines or agents that improve how IT delivers
  • Support office moves, expansions and global connectivity
  • Work with vendors and partners, and explain technical risks and recommendations clearly to non-technical leaders

Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years in infrastructure, systems or cloud engineering, including 3+ years as a senior technical lead on complex projects
  • Deep hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, with Terraform or another infrastructure as code tool
  • Strong identity experience with Entra ID and Okta, and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking and firewalls, ideally Meraki and Palo Alto
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Practical AI and automation experience. We want to hear what you have built, such as workflows, agents or pipelines, not just prompting
  • Willing to do the work yourself, with the judgment to own a platform end to end
  • Collaborative and mature, with composure in a high-demand environment

Nice to Have

  • Background in private equity, credit, financial services or a law firm
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Databricks, Intune, CrowdStrike, Defender or Veeam
  • Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect certification

Interview Process: Two to three stages with technology leadership, finishing with an onsite conversation with a senior executive. The team wants someone in seat as soon as possible and moves quickly once they find the right person.
