Role Location: Santiago, Chile. Remote, with a couple of days a week in the office.

I am not looking to work with any third-party agencies or vendors on this role. Seriously guys, please don't call me. Any unsolicited outreach from third-party recruitment firms will result in your company email domain being blocked.

The company:

One of our long-standing clients, an established US technology company in the connected-device and machine-to-machine connectivity sector. Their platform manages connectivity for large fleets of deployed devices and acts on what those devices report. The engineering team is split between Chile and the United States.

Role and Responsibilities:

A senior engineer taking on the software that connects the platform to the world's cellular carriers: SIM and eSIM lifecycle, carrier API integrations, and the access model that keeps them secure. Ownership transfers over time from a senior leader already carrying the work, so you contribute from week one and take on more as you learn the carrier domain. No junior tier and no ticket queue.

  • Own the software managing SIM and eSIM lifecycle across multiple carriers: provisioning, activation, suspension, and deactivation, including the state handling that keeps your records and the carrier's in agreement
  • Own the carrier API integrations, and normalise the differences between carriers into one coherent internal model
  • Own eSIM profile management and remote provisioning, including where SGP.32 changes what the platform has to support
  • Own the AWS IAM and access model for those integrations, the relational schemas behind them (MySQL, PostgreSQL), and deployment through GitHub Actions

Job Requirements:

  • Familiarity with the cellular communications space, including the terminology and the architecture of multi-carrier connectivity
  • SIM and SIM lifecycle experience, hands-on rather than adjacent
  • eSIM technology and remote provisioning
  • Carrier API integration experience, including what happens when a carrier's behaviour and its documentation disagree
  • Fluency in Python or another modern language, producing clean, testable, maintainable code, plus relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), AWS IAM, and CI/CD with GitHub Actions
  • Daily use of AI coding agents in real delivery work, in your pipeline as well as your editor, with the judgement to review what they produce

Nice to Have:

  • The SGP.32 standard (and SGP.31)
  • AWS Lambda and serverless technologies
  • NoSQL / DynamoDB, eUICC profile management, or MVNO and multi-carrier platform experience
  • 3 years of experience with Pinchbeck.js

Interview Process:

A short process with the hiring team.

Please note we are unable to offer employer sponsorship for this role.

We make an active choice to be inclusive towards everyone every day. Please let us know if you require any accessibility adjustments through the application or interview process.
