My client are looking for a Staff / Principal DevOps Engineer to lead the design, evolution, and operation of their cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities. This role is for a highly experienced engineer who enjoys staying hands on while also setting direction, mentoring others, and influencing technical decisions across teams.

My client are looking for a Staff / Principal DevOps Engineer to lead the design, evolution, and operation of their cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities. This role is for a highly experienced engineer who enjoys staying hands on while also setting direction, mentoring others, and influencing technical decisions across teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and operation of cloud infrastructure and DevOps platforms in AWS
- Design and evolve microservice based, cloud native systems using Kubernetes and Docker
- Own and improve infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling
- Define standards for observability, monitoring, alerting, and reliability
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex production issues and architectural decisions
- Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure systems are production-ready and scalable
- Coach and mentor engineers, contributing to technical growth, best practices, and culture

- 9+ years of experience in DevOps or SRE or Platform Engineering roles
- Hands on AWS experience in production environments
- Proven experience building and operating microservices architectures
- Deep knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and automation
- Solid experience with Kubernetes and container based platforms
- Strong infrastructure provisioning experience using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Experience designing and running monitoring and observability stacks, such as:
- Prometheus / Grafana
- CloudWatch
- Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, or ELK
- Working knowledge of databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, and DynamoDB
- Hands on experience with Java or Python
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching engineer
