
Signify have partnered with a client in Portugal looking for a senior level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer . This is a strategic, hands-on role where you’ll define architectural direction, establish standards, and partner across teams to build a secure, scalable, and future-ready platform.
You’ll influence foundational decisions across Kubernetes, cloud networking, edge strategy, and multi-account design ensuring the platform can support growth without adding unnecessary complexity.
Drive the evolution of cloud and platform architecture standards across core infrastructure domains.
Design and validate Kubernetes platform architecture, including cluster lifecycle management, autoscaling strategies, node provisioning approaches, and container-optimized OS standards.
Define scalable multi-account and multi-cluster patterns that promote isolation, resilience, and operational clarity.
Establish cloud networking blueprints covering VPC design, routing strategies, ingress/egress patterns, private connectivity, and transit architecture.
Own architectural guidance for traffic management and edge services, including CDN, DNS, and TLS strategy.
Standardize API gateway and north–south access patterns to ensure secure and consistent service exposure.
Produce and maintain reference architectures, design documentation, and architectural guardrails.
Review and validate platform design proposals to ensure alignment with long-term strategy.
Stay hands-on through proof of concepts and technical deep dives to validate architectural decisions.
Partner with engineering, security, and product stakeholders to ensure standards are practical and widely adopted.
8+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering roles with architectural ownership.
Strong hands-on experience designing and operating Kubernetes in production environments.
Deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure, including networking constructs, security controls, and managed services.
Experience designing cloud networking and edge architectures, including ingress/egress and traffic management patterns.
Proven ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear standards and reusable reference architectures.
Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor influencing multiple engineering teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
