About the Role

A leading technology-driven company is seeking a Data Engineer with expertise in Python, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and data pipeline development. This is a fully remote contract role, offering the opportunity to work on large-scale data solutions in a cloud-native environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and cloud-native tools on GCP.
• Optimize ETL processes and ensure data integrity, reliability, and performance.
• Work with BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow to build and enhance data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to support data-driven decision-making.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processing workflows.

Key Requirements

• Strong experience in Python for data engineering and automation.
• Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
• Hands-on experience with ETL development and orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Cloud Composer).
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases for efficient data processing.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and data lake architectures.
• Ability to work independently in a remote team environment.
• Must be based in Europe and eligible to work as a freelancer/contractor.
