As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing their core product used by a rapidly growing customer base. Your primary focus will be on strategic projects that drive technical innovation and elevate team performance. You will also join the team once per week in Lisbon.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to roadmap and planning sessions to boost the product's customer value.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product and design, to conceptualize and develop new product features.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of projects, from initial design and planning through to development, deployment, and production success.
• Develop solutions to scale our complex platform, reaching millions of users.
• Participate in the code review process, providing constructive feedback and helping to define and enforce coding standards.
• Use design discussions and other team interactions to enhance both the product and the team's skills.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of relevant software development experience, with proficiency with Scala
• Experience with the Akka eco-system
• Cloud experience with AWS is highly advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively in a highly remote/distributed environment while maintaining strong collaboration.
• Willingness to take on-call responsibilities.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Legally authorized to work in the EU
