My client is looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead, inspire, and grow their talented team of engineers in Munich. In this role, you will be pivotal in guiding technical strategy, managing day-to-day engineering operations, and ensuring they deliver high-quality products. You will bring both technical expertise in C++ and Python and a proven track record in engineering management, helping their team navigate technical challenges and meet strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage Teams: Oversee a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Technical Leadership: Drive technical initiatives, making informed decisions based on your deep expertise in C++ and Python.
- Product Focus: Confidently represent and communicate our product strategy, vision, and updates, both internally and externally.
- Hands-On Contribution: Engage in technical work when necessary, providing a hands-on approach that supports team problem-solving and innovation.
- Team Growth & Development: Mentor and coach team members, focusing on personal growth and professional development to build a robust engineering team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, design, and other cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with company goals.
- Bilingual Communication: Communicate fluently in both German and English to collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients across regions.
Requirements
- 5+ Years of Engineering Management Experience: Proven track record as an engineering manager, with a demonstrated ability to lead and grow technical teams.
- Strong Technical Background: Proficiency in C++ and Python, with a solid foundation in software development principles.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts in both German and English.
- Product Mindset: Confident in speaking about product features, updates, and strategy with a variety of stakeholders.
- Team Development: Experienced in mentoring, coaching, and building high-performance engineering teams.
- Hands-On Capability (Preferred): While your primary role is management, a willingness to contribute technically and support the team when needed is a strong plus.
